My strategy is to focus quickly on mine upgrades to compensate lack of flint problem. The problem with this one is lack of flint.įor the rest, there is a lot of mines nearby, 6 megaliths that are not too far and a good flat surface. The Northlandsįrozen valley: It's not perfect, but I think all the starting places in this scenario have a problem. You can easily create many crop fields after cutting the trees, and there are mines of all types on the left side of the image and on the right side (after building a bridge).Īs a bonus, the abundance of rivers is perfect to do a lot of fishing. River fork: This one has 7 megaliths nearby. Note that all starting locations work and that there are probably some that are better than others early in the game due to the quantity of animals to hunt.īut I do not have the patience to start a game in all locations. not sure if its enough to compensate for the shorter lifespan (IRL sheep can procreate until 7-8 years old). Here is a suggestion for a good starting location in each scenario. fertility rate is already increased with the 0.67 female ratio in offspring. It is the only reason we were able to build and support large city states and large populations. without it our current world and tech wouldn't be possible. ![]() After all domestication of grain and animals was the key to our eventual current status and away from the hunter gather stage. It should be easier to feed and maintain food and resource levels within this era than it currently is. It seems that the transition to grain and domesticated animals doesn't quite improve the population and tech advancements the way it should. but as is your better off sticking to only one or two animal types and larger herd sizes just to keep from beating up your straw storage. currently sheep seem to be a real problem if you don't set a herd size of at least 20 you run a real risk of losing a herd and having to rebuild it way to often to be comfortable, If we could maintain herd sizes at 10 to 15 say then we could manage straw much better. Originally posted by Pappa:I think a better option would be to increase the fertility rate of the livestock because currently the player has to create heard sizes quite large or be faced with the chance that a herds will die off to often or not be able to maintain its size. ![]() ![]() I think a better option would be to increase the fertility rate of the livestock because currently the player has to create heard sizes quite large or be faced with the chance that a herds will die off to often or not be able to maintain its size.
